My dad is my hero! I was born in the 70’s and have always been a daddy’s girl. He taught me how to fix a car engine, took me hunting, etc. But didn’t treat me like a boy. We still have a close relationship to this day. Dads did a lot more in the 70s than they get credit for. They actually taught us things kids need to know, like how to get a job, how to work for what we want, how to change a tire.
You never saw a 70s kid waiting for aaa to come save us from a flat tire. And you saw a lot of 70s kids working. As young as 10 we were mowing lawns, throwing papers, babysitting, and doing odd jobs. You didn’t see kids sitting in front of tvs all day while expecting their parents to buy them video games and cars.

Sure boys and girls were raised differently. Boys were raised to become men, girls were raised to become ladies. We recognized that the sexes were different, men had one set of strengths and one set of familial responsibilities, women had other strengths and responsibilities, together they could each fulfill their responsibilities based on their natural strengths. It made families stronger and more stable.
Then kids decided that men should be women, and women should be men, and children should be coddled instead of learning how to be adults. Prior to the industrial revolution, sons worked along side their fathers.
